TypesSyntypes: MNHN 3509, a 670 mm specimen (Péron), and MNHN 7408, a 1040 mm male (Dussumier).
Holotype: ANSP 5206; Seychelle Islands [Thrasops citrinus COPE 1868] 
CommentThe name Scopelophis has been suppressed by the ICZN in 1996 (Bulletin of Zoological Nomenclature 53 (3): 226-227).

Type species: Psammophis seychellensis SCHLEGEL 1837 is the type species of the genus Lycognathophis BOULENGER 1893.
