Type locality: “Küste von Peru.... Umgegenden von Huacho, Ica, Pisco und Islay”, Coastal Peru, now Chile  
Reproductionoviparous 
TypesSyntypes: MHNN (Mus. Hist. Nat. Neuchâtel), but apparently lost. 
CommentCarrillo and Icochea (1995) list the species to occur in Tacna, but the Tarapaca region was transferred from Peru to Chile.

type locality is in a region transferred to Chile in 1878.
