Type locality: "Nossi-Bé, Madagascar." [=Nosy Be Island, western Antsiranana Province, extreme northwestern Madagascar].

TypesHolotype: BMNH (= MNHN?) 1886-173, a 687 mm female (H. Deyrolle). 
CommentType species: Micropisthodon ochraceus MOCQUARD 1894: 8 is the type species of the genus Micropisthodon MOCQUARD 1894.
