TypesLectotype: AMNH 3911 [designated by Roze, 1966b], a female from Rio de Janeiro, Cabo Frio, Brazil, collected by Maximillian zu Wied-Neuwied.

Distribution: This species has been recorded from Uruguay inn the past but according to CARREIRA et al. (2005) there are no reliable records from that country. 
EtymologyLatin from corallium meaning red coral; corallinus means with the pattern of red coral.
