Reproduction	oviparous
Types	Holotype: UTA R-3490, a gravid adult female.
Diagnosis
Comment	Venomous! Synonymy: SLOWINSKI et al. 2001 synonymized Leptomicrurus with Micrurus, thus this new species may be a member of Micrurus too.
Etymology	Named after Juan Manuel Renjifo, a Colombian herpetologist who has contributed to our knowledge of venomous snakes of that region.
