CommentDistribution: Erroneously reported from Vietnam and China. Specimens from Guangxi are likely to be O. nagao.

Synonymy: partly after JIANG et al. 2012.

Illustration: in CHAN-ARD et al. 2015, although the drawings of Oligodon joynsoni and O. taeniatus have been mixed up (fide PAUWELS & GRISMER 2015). 
EtymologyNamed after H. W. Joynson who collected the holotype (1917).
