Type locality: 2.5 km airline NNE of La Fortuna, Cerro Texiguat Wildlife refuge, Departamento de Yoro, Honduras (15°25’ 49’’N, 87° 18’ 32’’ W, 1690 m elevation).

DiagnosisDiagnosis: Omoadiphas texiguatensis can be distinguished from all other Honduran snakes, except O. aurula and O. cannula by the combination of having smooth dorsal scales in 17 rows throughout the body, no anterior temporal, a divided cloacal scute, and a dark brown stripe on scale row three on each side of the body. Omoadiphas aurula has seven supralabials, eight infralabials, two postoculars, the postnasal separated from the prefrontal by the loreal, yellow ventral surfaces, and 24-35 subcaudals in females (versus six supralabials, seven infralabials, a single postocular, postnasal contacting prefrontal, dark brown to black ventral surfaces, and 47 subcaudals in the single female of O. texiguatensis). Omoadiphas cannula has the dark dorsolateral stripe involving scale rows two and three on each side and 31 subcaudals in the single known female (versus dark dorsolateral stripe con­ fined to scale row three and 47 subcaudals in the single known female of O. texiguatensis) (McCranie 2011: 356).
