DiagnosisDiagnosis: Snout acutely conical, a slight labial edge; rostral projects be
yond lip; no prefrontals; supranasals narrowly in contact, partly separated from one another anteriorly by the apex of the rostral. Sixteen scale rows round the middle of the body. Limbs lacking (ANDERSON & LEVITON 1966). 
CommentOphiomorus miliaris is not listed in the Zoological Record of 1864.

EtymologyNamed after Professor Fernand Lataste (1847-1934), a French zoologist who collected both in North Africa and South America.
