DistributionNE Afghanistan, N Pakistan (KHAN 2002), N India (Jammu and Kashmir), China (Xinjiang, Tibet), Turkmenistan, W Tajikistan ?

Distribution fide BAIG et al. 2012: Southern Pamir, Wakhan Corridor in Afghanistan, mountain ranges of Karakoram, Ladakh and Himalaya up to Tibet; elevation 1000 – 3500 m.

Type locality: Lei [= Leh] and Kargill, Ladakh-Province, Kashmir.

TypesSyntypes: NMW 16752:1-12, 16753:1-2 
DiagnosisDiagnosis (as Paralaudakia). Head and body moderately depressed; tail longer, two or less than two times that of SVL; no patch of strongly mucronate scales on flanks; groups of low spinose scales on neck and sides of head; indis- tinct tail segment of three whorls; callous glands only in males [BAIG et al. 2012]. 
CommentSynonymy partly after KHALIKOV & ANANJEVA (pers. comm.). Laudakia himalayana badakhshana (ANDERSON & LEVITON 1969) has been elevated to species status. Distribution not fixed accordingly.

Distribution: Records from SE Turkmenistan, eastward W Kyrgyzstan, and E Uzbekistan are usually L. bokhariensis. Not in India, despite the fact that the type locality has been considered as Indian territory. Has been reported from Nepal but without specific localities. 
EtymologyNamed after the type locality in the himalayas.
