W Angola, Namibia, Botswana, Zambia, Zambabwe.

Type locality: "Thamalakane River at Maun, Ngamiland," Botswana.

Diagnosis 
CommentPelusios bechuanicus upembae has been raised to species status. Distribution not corrected yet for that raise.

Habitat: freshwater (Lakes, quiet rivers)
