DistributionE Uganda, Cameroon (?), E Republic of South Sudan (RSS), Ethiopia, Somalia, south through Uganda and Kenya to NE Tanzania.

Type locality: Sipi forest, Mount Elgon, Uganda.

CommentHabitat: fully arboreal (Harrington et al. 2018). 
EtymologyNamed after James Clarence Battersby 1901-1993 [obituary in Herp. Rev. 25: 44 (1994)].
