DistributionEgypt (North Sinai [HR 32: 59]), Sudan, Ethiopia, Eritrea, Somalia, Kenya, Uganda, Cameroon

keniensis: Type locality: Lake Baringo

perreti: Cameroon, Nigeria

Type locality: Egypt
Reproductionoviparous
TypesHolotype: lost (probably, fide SCHÄTTI 1988).
CommentDistribution: Not explicitely listed by SCHLEICH, KÄSTLE & KABISCH 1996. The author is “GEOFFROY 1809: 67” fide DUMÉRIL et al. 1854. Reports from Libya represent Hemorrhois algirus or possibly P. rogersi (Bauer et al. 2017).

Subspecies: Schätti 2014: 384 elevated perreti to full species. However, the only difference he mentions is that perreti has 25 dorsals (vs. 27-29 in the Platyceps florulentus complex, if I [PU] understand this correctly -- the whole text is pretty convoluted :(
