Type locality: northwest coast of Hanish al-Kabir island (13°46 18 N, 42° 46 20 E, app. 8 m elevation), Red Sea, Yemen.  
TypesHolotype: ZFMK 86654, adult male, collected on 6 April 2004 by Wolfgang Schneider. 
CommentAbundance: only known from its original description (Meiri et al. 2017). 
EtymologyWe dedicate this species to Wolfgang Schneider (HLMD), not only because he collected the type series and thus made the description possible, but also in recognition of his valuable contributions to the zoology of the Middle East.
