Reproduction 
TypesHolotype: MECN (was DHMECN) 12694 (Field number 1073), an adult male, collected on 18 June 2008 (Fig. 5).
PARATYPES: MECN (was DHMECN) 12696 (Field number 1071)#, a male from Santiago Island, collected in the vicinities of Puerto Egas (001403300N 905103400W) on 17 June 2008; MZUSP 22557 (Field number 1065), a male from Santiago Island, collected in the vicinities of Puerto Egas (00 140 3200 N 90 510 1900 W) on 17 June 2008; MZUSP 22558 (Field number 1070), a female from Santiago Island, collected in the vicinities of Puerto Egas (00 140 3800 N 90 510 2500 W) on 17 June 2008; DHMECN 12695 (Field number 1074), a female from Rabida Island (00 230 5800 N 90 420 2300 W), collected on 18 June 2008; MZUSP 22556 (Field number 1072), a female from Rabida Island (00 240 0400 N 90 420 2800 W), collected on 18 June 2008. 
DiagnosisDIAGNOSIS: A large insular species of Pseudalsophis that differs from all other species of the genus by the following unique combination of characters: ventral counts in females 215–228 and males 212–224; subcaudal counts in males 97–108 and females 94–108; base of the lobular crest on the lobular crotch only slightly expanded when compared with P. occidentalis and P. dorsalis. 
CommentDiet: one paratype regurgitated an adult female Microlophus jacobi 
EtymologyNamed after Robert A. Thomas for expanding our knowledge of the systematics and taxonomy of New World snakes.
