Types	Holotype: QM J189 Holotype: probably QM J207a, from "Brisbane Suburbs", Qld., fide Covacevich (1971) [Pseudechis mortonensis].
Diagnosis
Comment	Synonymy partly after COGGER 1983. Venomous! Distribution: see map of localities in MADDOCK et al. 2016.
Etymology	The name guttata is Latin for "spotted" and refers to the numerous dark spots and blotches on the back of the species.
