Diagnosis 
CommentSynonymy: The genus Agrophis, which was established by F. Müller for this species, is closely allied to the American genus Geophis, from which it differs in the smaller anterior nasal. (Boulenger 1897: 222) 
EtymologyNamed after Swiss zoologists and cousins PAUL and FRITZ SARASIN.
