Diagnosis 
CommentSynonymy: after WERNER & SIVAN (1994) who consider the Omani populations of P. hasselquisti as P. guttatus. Previous authors considered P. siphonorhina as a synonym of P. guttatus.

Distribution: Not in Oman (Carranza et al. 2018). See Bar et al. 2021 for a map.

Sexual dimorphism: females are lighter colored and patches are less contrast than in males (Werner, 1993). 
EtymologyThe name guttata is Latin for "spotted" and refers to the numerous dark and light spots and blotches on the back of the species.
