TypesSyntypes: MNHN 1916-35-40, 1916-42, 4 males, 4 females; lectotype: MNHN 1916.39, designated by Arnold 1990 who found that one of the syntypes (1916.37) is Q. trachyblepharus; 
CommentSynonymy: Listed as synonym of Quedenfeldtia trachyblepharus by WERMUTH 1965 (following LOVERIDGE 1947). 
EtymologyNamed after Max Quedenfeldt (1851-1891), German naturalist who mainly worked on beetles.
