Distribution	Mexico (Baja California) Type locality: given as “?” by WERNER 1899. Restricted to "La Paz, Baja California, Mexico" by Smith and Larsen, 1974.

Types	Holotype: NMW 15455.

Comment	Synonymy: This species has been synonymized with Rena (= Leptotyphlops) humilis (e.g. by WALLACH et al. 2014: 632).
Etymology	named after Oskar Boettger.
