Type locality: given as “?” by WERNER 1899. Restricted to "La Paz, Baja California, Mexico" by Smith and Larsen, 1974.

Diagnosis 
CommentSynonymy: This species has been synonymized with Rena (= Leptotyphlops) humilis (e.g. by WALLACH et al. 2014: 632). 
Etymologynamed after Oskar Boettger.
