MENDELSON & KIZIRIAN 1995 resurrected stadelmani for populations in the Sierrade los Cuchumatanes and Montafiasde Cuilco, in northwestern Guatemala.

EtymologyNamed after Mrs.R.W. Hempstead of Cobain, Guatemala, in recognition of courtesies rendered to L.C. Stuart in the course of his investigations on the fauna of Alta Verapaz.
