Type locality: San Blas near Mazatlan, Sinaloa, Mexico (probably San BIas, Nayarit, Mexico).  
Reproductionoviparous. 
TypesHolotype: MDUG (Museo Alfredo Duges, Guanajuato, Mexico), juvenile female, collector unknown 
Diagnosis 
CommentSubspecies: The species status of antonii is contested. Dahn et al. 2018 don’t even mention it. See also Rhinocheilus lecontei.
