Distribution	Mexico ("....the mountains of extreme southeastern Coahuila and southern central Nuevo Leon. This species is strictly a montane form occurring at elevations from 2134 m (Pablillo, Nuevo Leon) to 3293 m (Cerro Potosi, Nuevo Leon)." (Watkins-Colwell et al. 1998). Type Locality: Between Providencia and La Paz, Nuevo León, Mexico.
Reproduction	oviparous (not imputed, fide Zimin et al. 2022)
Types	Holotype: UMMZ 124670, collected by P. H. Litchfield on 16 July 1960

Etymology	The Latin genitive singular honors Dr. Sam Coleman, who wrote programs for processing data pertaining to the Smith's work on the herpetology of Mexico.
