Type locality: Hacienda Rosa de Jericho [= Santa Rosa de Jericó], 3250 ft, elevation, Matagalpa, Nicaragua.  
Reproductionovovivparous 
TypesType: BMNH 1946.8.29.37 (and possibly additional specimens). 
Diagnosis 
CommentDistribution: Not listed for El Salvador by KÖHLER (2000).

Synonymy: The placement of this species in Diploglossus is based on phylogenetic data by Pyron et al. 2013. Apparently not listed by PETERS & DONOSO-BARROS (1970). 
EtymologyNamed after “bi-” = two or dual and Latin “vitta, -ae” = band or stripe.
