Type locality: “Mexico”; restricted to “Tehuantepec, Oaxaca” by SMITH & TAYLOR 1950 [Sphaeriodactylus inornatus PETERS 1874] Map legend:

Lectotype: ZMB 36187, designated by HARRIS & KLUGE 1984 [Sphaeriodactylus inornatus PETERS 1874] 
CommentDistribution: Not listed for Costa Rica by KÖHLER (2000).

Types: Harris & Kluge 1984: 32 conclude that USNM 6572 is the holotype of S. glaucus and that USNM 62995-96 and MCZ 13570 are not types, but rather the "several specimens" later referred to by Cope (1866:125).
