mitanensis: Myanmar, S Thailand (Phetchaburi etc.); Type locality: Meetan, South Burma. Map legend:

TypesType: ZSI, lost (fide SMITH 1935, Das et al. 1998)
Holotype: ZSI 5399 [mitanensis]
Holotype: ZMB 9628; "Neuguinea” [melanochlorum] 
CommentType locality given by Vogt 1932 (New Guinea) is most likely in error. The status of melanochlorus is not completely clear. DAREVSKY et al. (1983) provide a key to Vietnamese Sphenomorphus.
