Type locality: La Merced, 1000 m elevation, Peru; Lectotype from “mountains of central Peru, Río Tulumayo, Junín, Peru”.

DiagnosisDiagnosis in TORRES-CARVAJAL 2007. 
CommentDoes not occur in Ecuador as stated by previous authors (e.g. PETERS & DONOSO-BARROS 1970).

Belongs to the clade Anatomegalepis (fide TORRES-CARVAJAL 2006).
