Distribution	USA (Florida) Type locality: "Banks of the Oklawaha River, Florida."
Reproduction	ovovivparous.
Types	Holotype: lost (fide CHRISTMAN 1982)
Diagnosis	Diagnosis: The only subspecies with 15 scale rows (Christman 1982).
Comment	This species was discovered and described from the stomach of a Micrurus fulvius from Florida. Similar species: Storeria dekayi wrightorum
Etymology	Named after James Ellsworth DeKay (1792-1851)
