Diagnosis 
CommentStatus unclear. T. (s.) ornata is not mentioned in a recent list by OBST (2003), nor by ERNST & LOVICH 2009.

Distribution: not in Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama, USA (introduced to Florida) according to Rhodin et al. (2010). Listed for El Salvador by Mertens 1952: 36. Reports from Guatemala may represent T. s. venusta (STUART 1948).

Habitat: freshwater (lakes, ponds, rivers)
