Type locality: Nicobar Islands; restricted to “Camorta Island, in the central Nicobars” by VOGEL et al. 2014.

TypesLectotype: NMW 14863: 1 (formerly a series of syntypes: BMNH 1940.3.9.50, ZSI 3083-87, NMW 14863: 1-6); Indraneil Das (pers. comm., cited in McDiarmid et al. 1999: 337) reported ZSI 2950-2951, as additional syntypes. 
Diagnosis 
CommentVenomous!

Synonymy: This species has been considered as a synonym of Trimeresurus labialis (e.g. by WALLACH et al. 2014: 742) but was revalidated by VOGEL et al. 2014.

Habitat: partly arboreal (Harrington et al. 2018).
