|Comment||Illustration: in DAS 2010, although on plate 36, the name Tropidophorus laotus Smith, 1923 is wrongly associated to a drawing of T. hangnam, and vice versa.|
|Etymology||Etymology.-The specific epithet is derived from a transliteration of the Thai words, "hang" meaning tail, and "nam" meaning spine. It refers to the one of distinguish character of the new species, having strongly keeled or spines on the tail.|
