Type locality: Asia (from Celebes, fide Smith 1926)

TypesHolotype: ZMB 2824, from Asia (from Celebes, fide Smith (1926), who also erroneously referred to an Ashmore Reef specimen as the type). 
Diagnosis 
CommentVenomous!

Habitat: marine.

Hybridization: A. laevis hybridizes with A. fuscus (Sanders et al. 2014)

Abundance: Rare. This is one of the species called 'lost' and 'rediscovered' by Lindken et al. 2024. 
EtymologyNamed after Latin “fuscus”, meaning dark or dusky.
