Type locality: Venezuela; Bolivar, headwaters of Cafio
Majagua (enters the Rio Chipura at 05°30’N, 64°40’W).  
TypesHolotype: MCNC 178. Paratype: MCNC 13. 
DiagnosisThe species is diagnosed mainly by the presence of four precloacal pores, a lateral sulcus, 205–209 body annuli, 20 caudal annuli, 15–16 dorsal and 14 ventral segments on a midbody annulus, and dorsal surface of tail covered by strong tubercles [Costa et al. 2018) 
CommentDistribution: map in HOOGMOED & AVILA-PIRES 1991.

Abundance: only known from its original description (Meiri et al. 2017). 
EtymologyNamed after Dr. Janis Arnolds Roze (b. 1926), born in Latvia. He is Emeritus Professor of Biology, City College and Graduate School, City University of New York, and was associated with the American Museum of Natural History and the United Nations.
