Type locality: Nan Café, Ile de la Gonâve, Haiti.  
TypesHolotype: USNM 76801, immature male, collected March 1929 by A.J. Poole and W.M. Perrygo. Paratypes: USNM 
DiagnosisDESCRIPTION: Size small (SVL in males to 48 mm, in females to 44 mm); 3-7
(strongly modally 4) rows of loreals; 0-3 (mode 1) scales between interparietal and supraorbital semicircles; 0-2 (mode 0) scales in contact with interparietal; 2-8 (mode 4) postmentals; interparietal usually bordered anteriorly by small scales; 2-4 (strongly modally 2) scales in lateral contact with postfrontals; snout scales rectangular and generally paired with 0-4 (mode 2) azygous scales present; dorsal scales granular; ventral scales smooth, imbricate; supradigital scales smooth; tail compressed, verticillate, 5-6 scales/verticil, 4 triangular, keeled, pointed scales middorsally/verticil. Dorsum medium brown to light gray-tan or light gray; nuchal patch medium, dark with white border; venter pale yellow; dewlap variable (monochromatic) white, yellow, yellow-gray, (dichromatic) yellow with red or orange center, gray-green with rust center (Schwartz & Henderson 1991: 233).
