Diagnosis | DESCRIPTION: Size small (SVL in males to 39 mm, in females to 33 mm); 5-8 rows of loreals; scales between supraorbitals 1-3; 3-5 scales between interparietal and supraorbital semicircles; head scales strongly keeled; frontal depression moderate; suboculars in contact with supralabials; 6-9 postrostrals; 5-6 postmentals; middorsal scales much larger than flank scales, 6-8 rows of middorsals enlarged; ventral scales larger than middorsals, imbricate, keeled; limb scales, including supradigital scales, multicarinate; tail round, verticils indistinct; dewlap small, scales slightly smaller than or subequal to ventrals, keeled. Dorsum (male) uniform gray-brown; a whitish line, black-edged above, from over shoulder to hind leg, indistinct for its posterior half; below this line, flanks with scattered dark spotting; venter yellow tinged with red; chin and throat pale, pinkish orange with a few scattered black spots; dewlap blue with yellow scales; dorsum (female) plain brown, with a middorsal stripe with scalloped margins outlined by darker brown or black; yellow to green stripe from below eye to over shoulder, continuing faintly to hindlimb; venter pale, pearly green, most intense on chest; iris blue in both sexes (Schwartz & Henderson 1991: 284). |
