Type locality: Hacienda Cincinnati, San Lorenzo, Magdalena (Sierra NEvada de Santa Maria), Colombia, 1530 m elevation.

Comment | Species groups: Dactyloa punctata species group (fide NICHOLSON et al. 2012).
Abundance: only known from the type specimen (Meiri et al. 2017). |
Etymology | The name alludes to the enlarged, subimbricate and somewhat enlarged middorsal scale rows. |
