Type locality: Sokoki Forest, near Malindi, Coast Province, Kenya Colony  
TypesHolotype: MCZ 30117 (in catalogue as 39952) 
EtymologyNamed after H. J. AlIen Turner (1876-1953), a British taxidermist who lived in Kenya (1909-1953). He collected birds in East Africa (mainly Kenya) (1915-1917).
