Type locality: Eastern Serra do Roncador, Rio das Mortes basin, Mato Grosso, Brazil, at 1500 feet high; Cerrado domain; captured near the Indian village Pimentel Barbosa (12°51’ S - 51°46’ W).

DiagnosisDiagnosis: Similar to A. phillipsi, from which differs, mainly, by absence of light nuchal collar; male with high number of ventral scales, 234 (instead 227, female); snout few projected (instead too projecting); terminal plate entirely white (instead black above and tip). Similar to A. striata, from which differs, mainly, by hemipenis with calyculate apex and spermatic groove only forked at apex (instead forked before the median organ, with apex spinulate); higher number of ventral scales, 234 (instead 202); terminal plate entirely white (instead black above and tip); light brown blotches on prefrontals (instead prefrontals entirely blackish brown).

EtymologyApparently named after the type locality, Eastern Serra do Roncador, but not explicitly stated.
