DistributionEcuador (known only from Cordillera Real on the Atlantic versant of the Andes, occurring from Baeza (00° 27’ S, 77° 53’ W) to Cordillera de Guacamayos (00° 43’ S, 77° 55’ W) in the Napo Province of Ecuador. This species inhabits the Mountain Cloud Forest formation, and occurs at elevations between 1500– 2200 m)

Reproductionoviparous (not imputed, fide Zimin et al. 2022) 
TypesHolotype: IRSNB (= RBINS) 2008, adult male, (Musée de l’Institut Royal des Sciences Naturelles de Belgique), from Ecuador, gift by Mr. De Ville in 1874, without specific locality (specimen photograph examined). 
DiagnosisDiagnosis in Passos et al. 2009. 
CommentRhabdosoma Duboisi BOULENGER 1880 has been synonymized previously with Atractus occipitoalbus (by SAVAGE 1960) but revalidated by Passos et al. 2009. 
EtymologyNamed after Charles Frederic Dubois (1804-1867) or his son, Alphonse Joseph Charles Dubois (1839-1921), both Belgian naturalists.
