DistributionColombia (in rainforest, forested and areas related to small rivers in Choco Biogeographic Región, Cauca river valley in Antioquia, Caldas, Quindio; Magdalena River Valley in forested wet areas through Tolima), Ecuador, Panama

Type locality: “N.-Grenade”, which means Colombia.

CommentSynonymy: after Lang 1989: 123.

Distribution: not recorded from Costa Rica although Lang 1989 reported this species from Costa Rica, apparently in error (Savage 2002: 430). See map in Lang 1989: 124, 130. 
EtymologyAfter Latin “galeritus”, meaning wearing a hood.
