Nomenclature: Note that this species needs to be called globifer because of a special rule in the “code” according to which epithets that end in -fer and -ger need to be treated as nouns, unless the author explicitely states something else (LUTZMANN, pers. comm.). |
Etymology | Apparently named after the globular protuberance on the snout of this species, from Latin globus = ball, and Latin fero, ferre = to carry. |
