CommentType species: Boa dussumiri SCHLEGEL 1837: 396 is the type species of the genus Casarea GRAY 1842. 
EtymologyNamed after Jean-Jacques Dussumier (1792-1883), a trader-shipowner in the French mercantile marine, who collected specimens from many areas.
