Diagnosis | DESCRIPTION: Size small (SVL in males to 78 mm, in females to 71 mm); limbs relatively long; nasal excluded from rostral; frontal longer than broad; dorsals without keels, longitudinally striate; ventrals smooth, 84-104 between mental and vent; 37-42 scales around midbody; 13-17 fourth toe lamellae; snout sharp. Dorsum tan to brownish with scattered, longitudinally aligned dots or dashes, at times somewhat oriented as semichevrons or chevron fragments, at times lineate, especially on neck (as 4-6 dark nuchal lines); prominent, dark face mask extending along neck as dark band but disappearing behind forelimb insertions; venter gray and unmarked except for occasional, diffuse, dark blotches on throat and chest (Schwartz & Henderson 1991: 376). |
