Type locality: 17 mi S of Aptly, in 28° 27’ S, 119° 05’ E, W. A.

TypesHolotype: WAM R30001 
DiagnosisDiagnosis: A member of the taeniolatus group with 8 or 10 pale stripes. Further distinguishable from impar by lack of pale vertebral stripe, nasals and prefrontals usually in contact, and upper labials usually 8 (Storr 1974: 90). 
CommentLimb morphology: 5 digits, 5 toes (Singhal et al. 2018, Cogger 2014) 
EtymologyFrom the Greek titan Atlas, plus an allusion to the type locality Atley. (G. Shea, pers. comm., 9 Feb 2024)
