Type locality: Jamaica.

CommentFor illustrations see Barbour and Noble, 1916; Schwartz and Carey, 1977. 
EtymologyAlthough possibly named after its habitat, “hills”, after Latin “collei” for "of the hill", Gray refers to the species as Colley's Iguana, so he must have had someone in mind named “colley”, although it remains unknown who that person was.
