TypesSyntypes: BMNH 1906.3.30.34: RR1946.9.1.13, 1906.3.30.35, RR1946.9.1.14; MSNG 28162 (seven specimens). 
Diagnosis 
CommentType species: Placogaster feae BOULENGER 1906 is the type species of the genus Placogaster BOULENGER 1906 (now a synonym of Cynisca (fide GANS 2005). 
EtymologyNamed after Leonardo Fea, naturalist in Genoa.
