Type locality: Gedrosia, Baluchistan. Terra typica designata: Aptan, near Bampur, East Persia (by ANNANDALE 1913).

DiagnosisDiagnosis: (Fig. 71 in Anderson 1999: 155) No subfemoral tubercles; males with (4) preanal pores only; subcaudal scales one head-width behind vent enlarged, plate-like, in single median series; caudal tubercles forming terminal ring of each segment; dorsal tubercles distinctly larger than interspaces, strongly keeled and trihedral; limbs and tail sturdy; 10 dorsal tubercles in longest transverse series across back; width of dorsal tubercles nearly equal to greatest diameter of ear opening; 9 supralabials (Anderson 1999: 154). 
CommentAbundance: this is an enigmatic species with only few specimens known.

EtymologyNamed after Latin “brevis, -e” = short and “pes, pedis” = foot.
