DiagnosisDiagnosis [nobbi]: Dorsal and lateral scales homogeneous or subequal; less than 20 dorsal scale rows counted at the level of the axilla, between and including the outer enlarged dorsal scale rows; dorsal scale rows more or less parallel; outer enlarged dorsal scale rows form uninterrupted series [from WITTEN 1972].

Diagnosis [coggeri]: Dorsal and lateral scales homogeneous or subequal; 21 or fewer scale rows between and including outer dorsal scale rows; dorsal scale rows more or less parallel; outer dorsal scale rows interrupted anteriorly by smaller scales, forming uninterruptedseries posterior to the region of the axilla [from WITTEN 1972]. 
CommentSynonymy: partly after Shea and Sadlier (1999). EDWARDS & MELVILLE 2011 suggested to synonymize D. n. coggeri with nobbi.
