Type locality: Toricoejo locality, bank of Rio das Mortes, (15°14’21.6” S – 53°14’36.6” W), municipality of Barra do Garças, state of Mato Grosso, Brazil  
TypesHolotype: MZUSP 17480. Adult female, collected by A. p. soares on 5 september 2007. 
DiagnosisDiagnosis: (1) snout laterally compressed in dorsal view; (2) snout sloped in lateral view; (3) dorsal ter- mination of rostral scale rounded; (4) two supralabi- al scales; (5) five infralabial scales; (6) supraocular scales present; (7) supraocular scale not in contact with anterior supralabial scale; (8) frontal and post- frontal scales sub-equal in size; (9) mid-dorsal scales 241-254; (10) subcaudal scales 12-16; (11) scales around the middle of tail 10; (12) total length/mid- body diameter ratio 54.2-59.6; (13) total length/tail length ratio 17.2-18.7; (14) dorsal coloration with seven dark longitudinal lines on a light brown back- ground; (15) ventral pattern reticulated; (16) maxi- mum total length 206 mm; (17) white dot present on tips of head and tail [from ARREDONDO & ZAHER 2010].

Etymologythe specific name is a combination of the Greek word “clino-” (= slope) and the Latin word “rostrum” (= snout), referring to the sloped snout in lateral view characteristic of the species.
