Type locality: Thanon Khao Yai, km 22, Amphoe (district) Pak Chong Changwat (province), Nakhon Ratchasima, Thailand (14° 32’ N, 101° 20’ E).

Holotype: TNRC 52-3794, adult male collected in Sept. 1977;Paratypes. Two adult males (KUZ 9322, 9961) and three adult females (KUZ 9321, 13165, OMNH Osaka R2999), all collected from central Thailand; exact sampling data unknown [taylori] 
DiagnosisGekko taylori has a large body and a nostril separated from the rostral, and most closely resembles G. smithii and G. gecko from Southeast Asia. From these species, however, G. taylori was said to differ in having several morphological and karyological features such as relatively large ear openings, greater tubercle row count on dorsum, and greater diploid chromosome number. Not listed by RÖSLER (2000). 
CommentSynonymy: Gekko taylori is a synonym of Gekko siamensis fide Kluge 2001 and Hikida 2015 (confirmed by O. Pauwels via S. Meiri, 2 Apr 2017, confirmed by H. Ota, same email thread). 
Etymologynamed after its type locality (Siam = Thailand).

G. taylori was named after Edward Harrison Taylor, 1889-1978 [obituary in Herp Review 10 (2): 47; see also Borrell 2013 for further biographical notes]
