Holotype: QM J5806, from Millaa Millaa, Qld.; also given as holotype in MCZ 35447 catalogue [Lygosoma darlingtoni] 
DiagnosisDiagnosis: S. mjöbergi is the only member of the fasciatus subgroup with a relatively low number of longitudinal scale rows at midday (24 or less) to have a well developed external ear opening, the prefrontals separated medially, and the fourth supralabial situated below the centre of the eye as the modal condition [GREER & PARKER 1974: 38].
